JBS Canelones is one of the largest meat processing plants in Uruguay, with an important stake not only in the export but local market. The operation started in 1960. The name has been maintained and reflects the companies identification with the community.
The plant Facility occupies a built area of over 25000 square meters and has a skilled workforce of over 800 employees. The daily slaughter capacity is of 900 heads with a deboning capacity of up to 150 tons.
Traceability is mandatory for the 100% of cattle stock and every packing plant in the country. The process begins in the farm when the animal is born and continues until the final product, through an electronic information system (Black Boxes), with ISO 27001 Certification, audited by the British Standards Institute (BSI).
